About Bridgette
Duran is a self-taught painter based in New York City. Before pursuing art fulltime, she attended The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, where she studied Visual Communications with an emphasis in Graphic Design. She later worked as an assistant in both Fashion and Interior design. After several years in Interior Design, Duran moved to Paris to study French at Sorbonne University, where she discovered the city’s open atelier painting salons. Following her studies at the Sorbonne, she continued frequented Parisian open atelier’s, notably at Académie Port-Royal, working within its uninstructed open-studio model under Jean-Maxime Relange.
After returning to the United States, Duran began selling her work and exhibiting in shows in Los Angeles, Miami and New York City.
Her paintings are held in esteemed private collections throughout the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.
She currently lives and works in New York City.
